The Kinesiology Room

Test, Detect, Balance
About The Kinesiology Room

The Kinesiology Room is a holistic therapy practice based in the village of Undy, South Wales, UK, offering Systematic Kinesiology to clients, with the aim of promoting wellness. The Kinesiology Room philosophy is based on the belief that by accessing the body's energy systems and treating the whole person, rather than just the symptoms, we can facilitate balance and wellbeing. At The Kinesiology Room, a personalised approach to each client is taken, tailoring sessions to meet their individual needs.

What is Kinesiology?

Systematic Kinesiology is a unique way of communicating with the body. By gently testing muscle responses to light pressure, practitioners access bio-feedback from the body. Kinesiology treats the whole person. It does not diagnose or treat symptoms directly, but instead, uses muscle testing to identify physical, nutritional, emotional/mental or energetic factors that may be affecting your health and wellbeing. Through gentle, non invasive corrections the body can be brought back into balance, supporting optimal health, wellbeing and facilitating the body's innate ability to self heal. These corrections are made within a session, using techniques such as specific lymphatic massage points, acupressure and energy work to rebalance the body. Using muscle testing, Kinesiologists are able to discover where emotional or nutritional support is required. Kinesiology techniques provide the relevant support to release emotional stress. Kinesiology can also guide bespoke suggestions around nutritional supplementation or find food sensitivities. The benefits are often felt immediately, but longer term issues can take 3 - 6 sessions for best results. By integrating advice alongside their Kinesiology sessions, clients can experience significant improvements in symptoms and wellbeing.

My name is Ruth and I'm a Professional Associate Member of the Kinesiology Association having completed the Foundation Level course in 2023. I have an ITEC level 3 Certificate in Anatomy and Physiology and am constantly adding to my toolkit through further training and CPD.

My Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Foundation Kinesiology

  • Professional Associate Member of Kinesiology Association

  • ITEC Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology

  • Vagus Nerve Diploma

  • Holistic and Creative Therapeutic Practitioner

  • Children's Emotion Coach

  • Fully Insured to practise Foundation Kinesiology

  • Emergency First Aid

After living in Australia for 6 years where complementary therapy is very accessible, I developed an interest in alternative approaches to health and wellbeing. I used an acupuncturist, a chiropractor, an osteopath and an NLP practitioner to support both myself and my children. These experiences showed me how powerful these therapies can be. I discovered Kinesiology after moving back to the UK, when looking for answers in relation to my son's digestive issues. As a baby, we discovered he had a milk intolerance which caused issues with his digestion and we were advised to switch to soy milk. His symptoms improved but didn't resolve completely and he still relied on medication. I came across a brilliant practitioner (who later became my Kinesiology tutor) who helped us unravel his underlying issues. His symptoms improved to the point where medication was no longer required. Through Kinesiology, we've discovered he is also sensitive to soy and alongside some emotional work, have resolved his digestive issues.

Whilst being trained to use Kinesiology techniques, I helped other family members resolve ongoing issues such as sinus problems and long term aches/pains. I personally experienced the benefits of Kinesiology in my digestive health, hormone health and in my self development and emotional health. I regularly have Kinesiology sessions myself now to maintain my own wellbeing.

HOW CAN KINESIOLOGY HELP?
How I can help you
Emotional

Kinesiology can help you release emotional stress or mental blocks. Using specific Kinesiology techniques and Bach Flower Remedies, I can help you with emotional issues such as stress, past emotional issues, anxiety or fears.

Physical

Kinesiology can identify physical imbalances and support the body through lymphatic massage and other gentle structural corrections.

Bio-Chemical
Energetic

Kinesiology can identify imbalances caused by nutritional deficiencies or food sensitivities. By placing items in the body's electromagnetic field and using muscles testing, I can find what your body needs or doesn't need to support optimal health and wellbeing.

Kinesiology supports the energy systems through energy work that focuses on meridians, acupressure points, tuning forks, chakras and tapping.

Each of these 4 realms are addressed within every Kinesiology session, making this a truly restorative, holistic therapy that facilitates the body to heal itself. By reconnecting you with your body to discover root causes of imbalance, you'll feel empowered by an increased sense of self awareness to transform how you feel.

Some of the symptoms I've helped clients improve include:

  • digestive issues such as bloating and IBS

  • food sensitivity related issues

  • heavy periods

  • general aches and pains

  • self esteem

  • anxiety

  • processing emotions

  • dry skin

  • sinus issues

Kinesiology can also support:

  • hormones

  • stress management

  • emotional and self awareness

  • autoimmunity

  • learning difficulties such as dyslexia

  • low immunity

  • fatigue

  • a general sense of health and wellbeing

  • plus much more!

FAQs

Who is Kinesiology for?

Kinesiology can help people of all ages including children. It is a great preventative approach to health and wellbeing as well as troubleshooting those niggly issues that you can't quite get to the bottom of. Systematic Kinesiology sessions can also be a great support to those with ongoing health issues such as IBS and other digestive problems, tiredness, skin issues such as eczema and autoimmunity. My main areas of interest are women's health, fertility, children and emotional wellbeing.

What is muscle testing?

Muscle testing is a way of accessing biofeedback through motor responses. Motor responses are part of the nervous system, the communication system of your body, which is continually sending signals from the brain to the peripheral body and vice versa. Motor neurons respond to stimuli so by applying gentle pressure to muscles and challenging with various stimuli, muscle response testers can interpret the responses and make appropriate corrections.

What should I wear to a session?

Something comfortable that allows me to test your muscles easily. This should include trousers or leggings (preferably not jeans). Sports or Active wear is ideal.

What should I expect from a session?

We'll spend the start of the first session discussing what is going on for you and discussing medical history. At follow up sessions, we'll always check in on any changes you've observed. I keep confidential notes on each session which will help me prepare for any subsequent sessions and also help us track your progress.

You'll then lie on the treatment couch fully clothed, with shoes off and I'll use muscle testing to find and correct imbalances in the body. This is also where any emotional work can take place and also food sensitivity testing. All corrections and rebalancing of body systems takes place through clothing.

I'll keep you informed throughout the session, but at the end I'll recap and make any suggestions in relation to nutrition or lifestyle changes. Kinesiology sessions are about empowerment, where together we find imbalance and facilitate you to be healthy, naturally. Outside of sessions, it is the responsibility of the client to act upon recommendations for best outcomes.

I use a range of techniques to bring the body back to balance. Using muscle testing, the body communicates it's preferred corrections. Lymphatic massage points, holding acupoints, tapping, running meridians, tuning forks plus other Kinesiology techniques are combined with muscles responses to nutritional support or vibrational remedies to create a bespoke session for each client.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on you as an individual and your specific symptoms. Many people notice immediate changes after their first session, but several sessions (between 3 and 6) are usually required to see lasting changes. Some people find they feel generally very relaxed and in balance after a session and like to book in from time to time for a body "MOT".

How do I book?

For an initial session please email me thekinesiologyroom@gmail.com or fill in the contact form. Before booking you in, I do require some general information in your booking enquiry (a very brief description of wellbeing issues/reason for enquiring about a Kinesiology Balance). I'll then email you with some date/time options for your first session. For follow up sessions, you can book directly through my calendar on the Session Fee and Booking page.

Where is The Kinesiology Room?

The venue for sessions take place in my home based wellbeing room, in the village of Undy, Monmouthshire. The exact address will be shared on booking.
